Da Capo Inventory now allows students to submit practice logs, record goal achievements, and even upload audio recordings — all by scanning their personalized QR code!
IMPORTANT: All recordings will be automatically deleted from the server 90 days after being uploaded.
🛠️ How to Activate This Feature #
Option 1: Use the Lesson Scheduling system #
- Check the box labeled “Create Personalized QR Codes.”
- Once your schedule is set up, visit the Lesson Settings popup screen.
Option 2: Use the print labels button on the Enrollment page #
If you are not using the lesson scheduling system you can still use the Practice Log and Audio Upload system. To enable the feature, visit your ‘Program Settings’ screen and enable the ‘Use student-specific QR codes’ feature. You can then print QR codes for Practice Logs and Audio Uploads from the Enrollment page.
NOTE: These cards do not print on any specific label size at this time. They are designed to print on either Avery 5163 labels or regular paper.
🖨️ Printing Student-Specific QR Codes #
If you chose Option 1 above, after enabling the setting:
- Navigate to the Lesson Cards page.
- Click Print to generate the PDF lesson cards.
- Each student’s name will appear underlined on their personalized card.
💡 Be sure to distribute the name-underlined cards to each student — these contain their unique QR codes.
📱 What Happens When a Student Scans Their QR Code? #
When a student scans their personalized QR code, they’ll be taken to a secure student screen that includes:
- 🎵 A built-in Metronome
- 📓 Their weekly lesson notes
- 🕒 A place to log their practice minutes
- ✅ A way to report achieved goals
- 🎙️ An option to record a 90-second audio clip
- 🔥 Student can view their Streaks
🔒 This page does not display or collect any personal identifying information.
Students are not logged in, and submissions are securely linked to their teacher’s account.
👩🏫 Viewing and Listening to Student Submissions #
Teachers can review submitted practice logs, goal achievements, and listen to or download recordings from the new Student Recordings page (found under the Enrollment menu).
📝 This page will only appear if you’ve enabled “Create Personalized QR Codes” in the Lesson Settings or Program Settings screens.
Additionally, you can click the purple note icon in the table to add teacher feedback or remarks for each submission. Notes written about audio recordings will be visible to students when they scan their QR code.
🔥 Practicing Streaks #
Students who record a practice session or log a practice entry each day will build up their Practicing Streak.
As students maintain consecutive days of practice, they’ll unlock special encouragement messages at the following milestones:
3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 10 days, and 14 days.
These messages are designed to motivate consistent practice habits and celebrate students’ progress.
If there are any students on a current streak, teachers can see this at a glance on the Teacher Dashboard, in the Enrollment Card.
